5 Sources Of Information Part 2

Day to Day Diary & Personal Journal

I keep a diary of my day to day dates whether it’s a Doctor’s appointment, Campus Sessions, family gatherings. It’s important for me to do this as I can forget things. I have to keep a personal diary; I have done this since I was a teenager. (What teenage girl doesn’t?) I find that if I keep a personal diary, I can go back and source information from either my personal life or my professional practice to help with current or future practice.

You-Tube

I use You-Tube to research and watch films, interviews, music videos etc. I find it very valuable as a student as well as a Director/Singer because you can also upload videos (within reason). I have been able to publish my music without a price tag so that people can listen to it and so that people can watch my work.

Social Networking

I find that Social Networking is a key place for information depending on A: Where you network, B: Who you network with, and C: How you network. For me it’s a good way to communicate professionally with friends, and people I have worked with or have yet to work with. I find out quite a fair bit of information on Celebrities, my friends, Books, Movies and more. I use Facebook and Twitter as my main forms of Social Networking and they are my main sites for information in Social Networking.

Question for everyone including Tutors

I wonder if you keep a diary? Not by being told to keep one, but off your own back? I use a diary both Personal and to keep my dates safe, but have found when looking at my friends blogs entitled "Sources Of Information" that hardly anyone uses a diary (Personal or for Dates) as one of their top sources.

Thoughts below if you have any.......

Task 3C Sources of Information Part 1

Google:

I use Google on a daily basis as (to me) it is the fastest, and most specific search engine, I have used. I have online documents, a calendar; I can translate languages and more. Google is important to me because it can be a form of communication, a place to have online documents, and a good search engine that brings results that are to the point. To be honest I can’t function without Google.

Phil mentioned in his blog that “Google. It is one of my first thoughts as a source of information, research, answering a question, and teaching tool.”

Face to Face interaction:

I speak to people face to face all day and everyday whether they are my family, my friends, and my friends on the course, my colleagues in my practice, my connections / networks and more.  This is important to me because I have always wished not to conform to what the creators of Social Networking websites want, for us to use Facebook, Twitter and so on. I don’t gain any information that way. I would rather speak to someone face to face. You can have a real conversation that way. For example, I can’t function if I ring my mum every day. I function better if we talk face to face. That way we can understand what each other is saying, and my questions are answered if any.

Sarah says the same in her Sources of Information “For example, whilst helping a year 7 pupil work on her French ‘er’ verb endings, I was confused and had no computer access and could not find the French teacher to be able to obtain the information I needed in order to help the pupil. My mother was a French teacher for 30 years, so I quickly called her and within two minutes, I had the information I needed.

Task 3B- Theories relating to Networking Part 1 (re-written)

Do the concepts prompt you to think differently about yourself and Professional Networks?

Yes it does and I've found some of the things mentioned in the reader that make me think differently. I've also found that I disagree with the theories of Affiliation and Constructionism. This is because no-one is obligated to be a friend to someone. There is also no difference between Individualistic Cultures and Collectivist Cultures. Yes all cultures are different in regards to the rules and regulations we have in place. But we all make friends in the same way, by saying ‘Hello’ or Ola’ or Bonjour or whatever language it may be. So how can it be different? And with Constructionism you don’t have to practice something to gain reality, or live in reality for that matter. Also with Constructionism not all interaction is by a social network. How can it be? A lot of people still write letters and still use face to face interaction today. Maybe not the younger generation but people over the age of 18 do. They have to. For example when they apply for a job they are sometimes always required to write a covering letter. It all goes back to what I said in my Critical Reflection on the 1st reader (link to Critical Reflection, and how it relates to this subject).
On a good note I've realised since Thursday 24th November that I agree with the theories of Connectivism and Communities of Practice (even though they left out the bad bits), bar two Principles of Connectivism. G, Siemens says

“Learning and knowledge rests in diversity of opinions... Nurturing and maintain connections is needed to facilitate continual learning.” (2004)

I strongly disagree on this point because nobody has to be opinionated to learn and gain knowledge. If we were all opinionated for this reason how would we learn? All we would learn is selfishness. Yes you have the right to your own opinion, but if it’s the wrong opinion, someone is offended by it, or if it goes against the rules and regulations of the learning institution, they you’d be in big trouble. Should we always take the risk or play safe and write our opinions in our journal?

What I do agree with though is remaining Principles of Connectivism and the Principles of the Communities of Practice. This is because what is mentioned makes sense in current networks and in the current world we live in. Our communities often overlap with each other with similar related content. It is also because Communities of Practice is a stepping stone for knowledge, and it provides support for us to make sense of our heritage.

I realise that I need to get out of this huge hole I've been placed in by my current network. These concepts in the reader have made me think that How could I let this happen? Why? Do I deserve it? It's ok in my BAPP network but professionally it's gone downhill.

How might they provide insights into your current situation or future needs?

The concepts in the reader have provided me with key information as to how I can get out of my current situation safely and to prevent me from making the same mistake again. They will also help me to move on and to help me with the continuation of the course and my practice.

Are there other perspectives or theories that have value to you?

Theory of Cooperation:

"All the world loves a winner. You know why they love the winner? Because they think you know something. You had to know something in order to win. So we admire them. The winner doesn't learn anything. No the Loser, the Loser learns something. About himself. Losing teaches yourself. So the loser's the winner."

Hough, Coleman (2005)

I found that Prisoner's Dilemma (Game Theory) really put quite a bit of things into place for me via my questions about my current practice that over the last week I have begun to have.

I conducted two tests of this game. The first one went well because the Serendip and I kept cooperating for 6 turns. The second test didn't work out so well as I wanted to see what would happen if you were selfish and just competed the whole way through. I competed and after the 10th turn I wanted to try again and when I did the wizard came up and said "Les Jeux Sont Faits" (The Chips are down in English). I won but now have the fatal fate upon me. (Not keen on this game and the factors behind it. I don't believe in Wizards or anything like that.)

This theory relates to my current practice because we have a lack of cast members and 2 of our cast members are filming. There isn't much cooperation in the group at the moment, and I'm feeling like I want to scream and say "just get on with it!" I never did though. I see more selfishness in this group than cooperation, which has me thinking "Can I just continue my practice??????" "Could we just have a peaceful rehearsal?".......

When Axelrod conducted the test with experts from all kinds of backgrounds from Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, and Mathematics. His highest result came out very differently to my results. The difference is that I said I was at first going to Cooperate and then second Competed. Axlerod didn't choose which way the test was going to work. He didn't control the game. He just left the experts to it, and just waited for the results.

All these theories relate to my current (my ex-) network in so many ways that I have never thought of until now. The way that Axlerod talks about cooperating or competing for something, made me realise that I could no longer be a part of such a theatre group for very much longer. Through Axelrod’s theory I now know what to expect if something like this arises again, and what to do in such a situation.

Task 3B- Theories relating to Networking Part 1

Yes it does and I've found some of the things mentioned in the reader that make me think differently. I've also found that I disagree with the theories of Affiliation and Constructionism. I found that Prisoner's Dilemma (Game Theory) really put quite a bit of things into place for me via my questions about my current practice that over the last week I have begun to have.

Task 3A- Current Networks

1. What are the current and different ways (tools) that you have, or do, engage your professional network?

Phone/Mobile- Current
Letters- Past
Emails- Current
Face to Face conversation- Past/Current

In University I use:
Blogs
Skype
Email
Face to Face
Facebook
Twitter
Phone/Mobile

As an Individual I use:
Email
Facebook
Face to Face
Letters
Phone/Mobile

In the Moonlite Players I used:
Email
Face to Face
Facebook (Cast Members)
Phone/Mobile

I professionally network more at Uni and as an individual than in the Moonlite Players. This is because the theatre group lacks a modern way of Professional Networking.

2. What are the established (and different) ways that others use their networks, especially if they are more established or experience practioners that you admire?

Sarah Kane- Born 1971- Died 1999

Sarah was an amazing writer with a brilliant but closed Professional Network. Her network consisted of the following people:

Bristol University
Birmingham University
Martin Crimp
Harold Pinter
Caryl Churchill
The Guardian
James MacDonald.
Her Parents (her life)

Sarah used her network to help her direct her plays, to help her become qualified, to be praised and to be inspired to write. Her childhood, adolescence and her adulthood are the stories behind her work.

I admire her network because she continued going on with her writing even though she suffered setbacks from the press, and from depression. Because she wrote some fantastic realistic work, that challenged a lot of what was going on in our world in the 80's and 90's. She wasn't afraid to write. Blasted is a good example of this.

3. Are there method's, approaches and technologies that you use socially that might apply and help you develop your professional networking?

There are.
These are my Methods and Approaches:

I set myself small goals, I keep a diary so I know where I have to be and when, I have a celebrity page on Facebook and a Twitter account that is professional. This is so I can have a personal Facebook where my friends can keep in touch with me. I also have just started connecting with people in my Professional Network using Skype (Paula Nottingham is my latest connection).

These are the Technologies that I use:

Adobe
Photoshop
Premier Pro
Word
Google Docs
Blogger

4. When you reflect upon current networks, can you think about the motives of others to be in the network and what values and purpose they have in mind?

In my BAPP network, everyone has their own way of networking, writing things, reflecting. The motives we all use are to express what we think (in a rational way), The values we have are to listen and think about what others have said in Group Discussions, on Blogs, on Google Docs etc, to get the most of of the course whilst learning from our lecturers and from our colleagues.  The purposes we have on the course are to boost our practice and to add friends to our Professional Network.

5. What would your ideal network look like and why?

This would be my ideal network because I would get along with everyone (as they are friends of mine), and from a business perspective I think we would all work well together with the experiences everyone has in their sub sector in the Performing Arts. It would be like a crescendo of people. There are also people in my ideal network who have and still are teachers who teach me about the business side to running a Performing Arts Academy.

6. What realistic things could you do to work towards developing your ideal network?

- Build up a group of Contacts, Friends, Advisor's
- Create my own company with Partners
- Save up to achieve this goal ^
- Conduct a contract (with a Lawyer) to make sure that no-one breaks the rules or is unhappy
- Find Investors, Supporters, dedicated Volunteers etc..

7. What tools and methods do you need to use? What do you know about your current, and intended networks and importantly, What don't you know?

Tools:
Phone
Email
Letter's
Face to Face
Skype
Conference Calls
Technical

Methods:
Careful approach (Kind etc.)
Evidence, Business Plans
Backing statements from supporters
Business partners
Time keeping

What I know about my current network is:

In regards to my current network, I know about contracts (reading and signing), being a music technician, communicating with potential group members, as well as my acting duties.

What I don't know about my current network is:
1. How to write a contract/agreement properly
2. How to keep myself from quitting the group
3. How to stand up to people who have spoken about me behind my back.

What I know about my intended network is:

In my intended network I know how to communicate with people, come up with business plans, conduct meetings, and controlling accounts to name a few.

What I don't know about my intended network is:
1. How to financially support the company?
2. The laws of wages, running the company?
3. I don't have a business background, Where should I start? How? What do I have to do? Gain a business degree?
4. How do I get people on board?
5. Will people think I'm dumb for not knowing enough about business?
6. Does everyone in the company's staff have to know their jobs fully or with £2,000 (for example) can I offer training?
7. How do I build a company?
8. How much time do I have to put into the company?
9. How much energy and money will I have to have to set up a company?

More on the decision I made earlier...

I have decided to leave the "Moonlite Players" after Christmas. Not only have I not gained much knowledge, but I have also worked very hard and left my uni work aside just to be Monika's backbone, and also have been talked about behind my back. It's one of the worst mistakes I have made in my life and I have just had about enough of being pushed and shoved and then Monika talking some of my colleagues behind their backs to me. The stage manager is also leaving with me. This relates (in Reader 3) to the theories of Connectivism and the Communities of Practice. I agree with these theories and I wish that I had read about them sooner. I could of had a full time paid job instead of paying £12 a month to sit around and be Monika's dog body and to not get anywhere. This has been a total waste of time and I am stuck with what to do now because I need my practice to complete module 1. I just don't know what to do.

On a happier note, I am starting a full time paid job the week before Christmas. All will be revealed when it is confirmed.

Happy Wednesday all!

Pictures of the programme for "Fiddler On The Roof"

Fiddler On The Roof!

Last night I saw an amazing community theatre performance of "Fiddler On The Roof". It was in Hampstead. I was truly amazed to get a hands on experience of what it was like to be the audience that I will later use to help with Cinderella. It starred a great cast, and it looked like it had been directed very well. I had never seen the film, watched the play or even read about it, but the way it was portrayed gave me a clear understanding of what it was about. I was glued all the time. And in the end where Chava leaves with Fyedka after being disowned by her father for marrying Fyedka, left me in tears. I was thinking to myself How can a father disown his child when his two older daughters didn't marry well? Yes they married Jews but they married poor Jews and he still accepted the marriages. So why make a fuss about his youngest daughter marrying a Russian? What wrong did the Russians do to the Jews? I will research more about this, and get a clear understanding of why Tevye did this.

A friend in Cinderella's wife was in the production and she did an amazing performance as Mirala and Grandmother Tzeitel. For £8 the play was a good night out.

Task 2D Inquiry Task

I have had many questions over the last few months that I need to now inquire about.

From Module 1:

Should we have access to all websites where we can comment and share things on other people's profiles?

What if someone started being racist, sexist, or worse abusive and the website didn't have any power over it?

Do we have to be allowed to have our own privacy? Do we have to ask to keep for example a diary a secret?

Do we have to conform to what the creator of the website wants?

From Module 2:

What if the child or person is telling the truth?

Wouldn’t the supervisor know when a child or person is lying from their previous behaviour and personality?

What if the child’s or person’s life is at risk?

Would you rather sack a teacher (who proved to be someone totally different like for example a paedophile)
Or have a child put into hospital or worse die?

More questions to come with module 3.

Today at university we looked at "The Networked Professional" with Alan Durrant. There are many ways you can be or linked to a Networked Professional.

* Potential Business Partner/Customers
* Advertising Yourself
* People on this course/Peers
* Collaborating
* Meet people with similar interests to you
* People who may be learning
* Beneficial
* Google!- Type in your specific field
* Promoting
* Browse/Search Professional Network

There are lots of sites or people you have connected with that gives you the seed to your Professional Network. Such as:

- LinkedIn
- Who you've worked with
- Who you are talking to
- Browsing other people's blogs (I.E previous students from the BAPP course)

We then got into groups and looked at examples of diagrams of Thought. We questioned who? what? how? when?

I was working with Corinda, Rozana and Rhoda. We went and sat in the student union and discussed how we would go about drawing up a diagram that explains our Professional Network. We decided that we would draw up our own individual Professional Network, and then have a discussion about each one and bring our similarities together to make up a diagram named "The Networked Professional". We noticed we had quite a few things in common and that we could ask people on the course if they had a contact we could use (just general forms of communication in case anything in their experience could help us with our experience).

So I could ask Corinda what it feels like to have been self-employed with her own dance company, to then being married and having children to coming back to work. I could ask Rozana if she can teach me some moves that I would like to learn. etc...

Made a big decision today. One that was very hard to make. I am not in the greatest of moods and I'd never thought that a group of councillors and MP's ran my life as if I was a robot. I thought wrong obviously...

But on a happier note everyone will be receiving Christmas E-Cards this year for the festive season.

Tuesday 25th October 2011

Today I met with my director for a one on one rehearsal. We went through my first scene as Cinderella, composing Stage Direction, how I will be saying my lines etc. It felt hard as I was under a lot of pressure, (outside of the company), and I kept getting things wrong. I felt like I was a student in college doing improvisation. Sometimes you have to make mistakes in order to make things better or to better your skills and Professional Practice.

Also we had to purchase more backing tracks for Cinderella and go over some business for the company (which for copyright reasons I can't disclose information of). We had a nice lunch of Ham and Cream Cheese sandwiches. It was amazing.

Wednesday 2 November 2011

Questions from Paula Nottingham

How would you describe your role in the company?

My role in the company is an Actress and I am also the Musical Technician. I might be able to do some assistant Directing in the near future. As I am in Community Theatre my roles will change depending on the performance. I am also a Committee Member that assists the Director with Admin and Promotion of the Company.

What did this journal writing experience tell you about your professional practice?

Writing this journal told me that there is so much on offer working in Community Theatre and that I could explore more than I would being in West End show for example. I am learning and teaching at the same time, and also gaining an experience in how to run a company, what it's like to be a committee member, and a member of the technical staff. I may not be paid for this job but raising money by doing something I love is a fascinating thing.

Actually it's told me that I don't know...... I might have to come back to this question unless the answer above answers this questions. I might have to re-think this question and re-post.

Monday 24 October 2011

Journal Writing Experience

Friday 27th October 2011.

Today I met with my director for a meeting. We went through my script to get the song titles for "Cinderella". I then purchased the backing tracks. We couldn't get all of them, but we tried our best. The songs that we had were then burned off onto CD for the cast. We also had a talk about things that were coming up, for example our next promotional event for the company, going to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and having the company's annual Christmas dinner. We are holding a Christmas Bazaar soon, and we want people to come and buy cakes, enter a raffle, donate things to sell etc... We then took a break and had some lunch which turned into a conversation about my Wedding Dreams. What my dress is going to be like? Who my maid of honour is? My walking down the Aisle song? How I want to walk down the aisle by myself? We then got back on point and spoke about the annual Christmas Dinner party for the company. We looked at several restaurants, some expensive and amazing, some in mid price range and not too bad, and some cheap and not great at all. We decided to check out the Holly Bush Gastro Pub in Hampstead, North London and it is about £25 per head for a 3 course meal minus drinks. This seemed really reasonable.

We then prepared everything that we needed to take to rehearsals with us, and travelled down to our rehearsal location. It was a good walk as it wasn't cold or too warm and I got a chance to catch up with my director on how her week had been and vice versa.

At rehearsals:

We shared with the company the things we discussed earlier which were:
- The Christmas Bazaar
- Priscilla Queen of the Desert
- Christmas Dinner
- The CD's with the songs for "Cinderella" on

Everyone liked these ideas and that was a relief as I knew that our director wanted to get right to our point of being there. To rehearse scenes from the Pantomime.

The scenes we rehearsed were:
- The Kitchen Scene with Buttons.
- The Stepsisters Scene with their ball gowns.
- The Kitchen Scene with Buttons and my Stepmother.

In the Kitchen scene you see Cinderella interact with Buttons and later on in the scene with Buttons and her Stepmother. As we had just done a huge promotional event in which I did most of the background Technical stuff,  I was just re-getting to grips with the way my lines needed to be said and how I need to act/perform in order to make the scene solid and set in stone.

It was tough at first as I hadn't been concentrating on it that much. Some parts of the scene needed going over and over, but it's only for the benefit of the actor/actress and the company as a whole. You have to do things over and over until you get it right.

So busy rehearsals, busy technical work, busy with uni, and busy with serving God.

But it's manageable and I feel amazing to be working again. It will be tough now and again, but what job isn't?

I look forward to see what tomorrow brings as I have a one on one rehearsal with my director.

"Cinderella" Rehearsals 14th October 2011

Today we were auditioning one guy for either the Prince, Cousin Henry or Dandini. It was good but it's up to the director so we just have to wait. After this we rehearsed some of the crucial scenes for the pantomime. It felt funny to do them after we'd been rehearsing so long for our promotional event at the beginning of the month. Some of us (who've had the script longer than I have) carried their scripts instead of letting our director prompt them if necessary. By this Friday we have to have our lines learnt word perfect. This sometimes would be a challenge for me, but surprisingly I have no problems (for now).

We now have to up our game because we have to learn all the songs and the dance routines with 10 weeks to go to the show. I just hope we find our Male Lead and our lines are learnt otherwise the plug might be pulled.

If anyone wants to take part and can Act, Dance and Sing please let me know. Auditions will take place this Friday 6pm.

See you all tomorrow.

The last chaotic week of September & Show Day

So continuing on with the show preparations, things got tough. People stopping and starting and changing their minds on what backing track they want to use, Saying that I should of had all tracks completed ages ago and more. I'm wondering if those in the company who have said these things know's more about how many hands and brains I have than me??? Someone in the group wanted to change their backing track 5 days before the show. Everyone knew I had Uni work on, Committee work (for the company) on, and not enough time to change things around again. On the day before the show, two people in the company started arguing with our director and our director walked out really annoyed. It was over the fact that we (as a company) weren't smiling or flowing with the music. But as any amateur or professional knows when you perform in a shopping centre you aren't always going to have an audience placed in front of you. There are going to be times where people will walk straight past you and not care. I think we were merely preparing everyone for a public reaction.

I know that I wasn't doing anything wrong. I was even late home and got in trouble with my mum because I was supposed to be home at 8:30pm for our Bad Taste Party for Macmillan Cancer Charity.

At times in this group I feel prejudiced.......

Anyway to the day of the show. It was ok, with a few technical hitches, and some songs went a bit wrong. But everyone pulled off a great performance. A new light was seen in some of the company members who at first appeared shy (when they first came into the company), and have now blossomed.

And we all said "That's Showbiz Kid". (not really but I had to put a happy ending on...)

Rehearsals for the 1st October w/c 30th September - 1st October 2011

30th September - 1st October 2011

We had rehearsals 3 times in the week beginning the 30th September. This was at our director's house. Not everyone could be there due to length of travel, allergies to cats and in some cases no excuse at all. But hey ho, we all have our showbiz "I can't be there due to....." moments at some point in our lives. (Laughs). Things never stopped being stressful this week, but I never seemed to want to burst the cork on the champagne. All I heard was "I can only sing it in this key, if you could find the track for me", "It goes like this, not this", "Can you get this track for me?". I know I'm the technician for the show, but I wish that people in the company would have a bit of integrity and respect towards me. I am not a super human. I am just human, and things take a while. We rehearsed the groups mostly and a few solo's (but not mine, we didn't get around to them until the last day of rehearsals in this week, and besides I wasn't ready to show them yet..)

Later on in the week I rehearsed my 2 solo's which were Rihanna's "Unfaithful" and Duffy's "Warwick Avenue". From a singing aspect my performance was great (with a little pitch issue) but it lacked an actresses performance. So in order to get me there my directors are going to help me.

Part 2 on it's way......

Rehearsals for the 1st October

15th September 2011- 23rd September 2011

During this time, I ended up running around trying to get backing tracks and sorting out the set list with the director. This proved to take ages as not everyone had decided what songs they were singing as solos. And some of the tracks I picked with the soloists ended up being the wrong ones and they ended up stressing me out. I almost blew a fuse. I dislike it when people other than the directors tell me how to do my job. I know what to do, and I sometimes feel smothered. Its showbiz and I have to let it flow over my head. Words of advice from my director.

1st official Rehearsal of songs for our promotional event on 1st October

Wednesday 14th September 2011

After yesterday I was tired, stressed, annoyed, and just frustrated more than I had ever been in my life. It took roughly 2 cups of tea and 2 coffees to wake me up today. I had never drunken so much caffeine at all. I went back to my director’s house for rehearsals. In the time we had, I was getting all the backing tracks in the order they should appear in, making sure I had all the correct tracks by going through them with my director, and working on the group songs that I sing a part of. It was a great rehearsal with challenges that made me feel angry. But I realised that the challenges shouldn’t get to me, but that I should be strong and courageous. So hopefully I will be back to my normal self tomorrow. I am praying I will be my normal self tomorrow.

Meeting on the 13th September 2011

Tuesday 13th September 2011

I went to my Director’s house to have a meeting about our promotion event that will take place on the 1st October 2011. I am in charge of getting all the background music for the show and the event. In presence at this meeting was a friend of my director (who I am hopefully performing a duet with), and my director. It was a tough meeting as the three of us had to decide on a song for the duet and this took quite a while as we couldn’t stop quarrelling about it. In the end we gave up and moved on to the downloading of the songs we required for both the show and the promotional event. It took from 6pm till midnight.

Yesterday was a good day. We had little group discussions on our first reader "Professional Communication Technology Reader".

I was in a group with Alice, Jo, John, Charlie, Mary and Rhoda.

We had to discuss:
A- The key concepts within the core idea of the reader
B- The key speakers of the reader
C- Examples of Web 2.0 that apply in practise
D- Comments/Arguments about the limitations of these concepts in practise (what are the pro's and con's?)
E- Any other thoughts on these concepts (your own opinions)

This is what we came up with

A- Key Concepts:
Generation- We take work from the original source and post it elsewhere without copyright getting in the way- Mary

The creators have jumped to far forward with the pro (for people to social network) and not think of the cons- Lily

We have a different look on things- John

B- Key Speakers:
1. Valtysson
2. Bruns
3. Rennie

They are encouraging people to do it- Jo & Mary

C- Examples of Web 2.0 that apply in practise

You-tube
Photoshop
I-movie
Facebook
Blogger
Movie Maker
Teaching
Writing
Lesson plans

D- Comments/Arguments about the limitations of these concepts in practise (what are the pro's and con's?)

Pro's:
Keeping in contact with old friends, relatives etc.

Finding friends, relatives or even celebrities.

Cons:
You are remixing ideas, evidence, and more.- Mary

Are you acknowledging the source?- Rhoda

Other peoples opinions shading yours.- Mary

Real Communication has stopped- Jo

What happened to writing a letter? Or going round to a friends house for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake?- Lily

I blame Blackberry's- Lily

There is more Bullying now that we have Social Networking- John

E- Any other thoughts on these concepts (your own opinions)

It's like a mexican wave effect- Alice

Communication lacks in the workplace- Jo

Pro- Networking for Business is easier with the internet- Charlie

It all balls down to Generation- Everyone

Will the Generation, the excellent networkers and technical staff all communicate but lack social skills in social situations- Everybody

Age- people sign up for Social Networking sites as young as 8 years old. Because you can fake your birthday.- Alice

Things like Limewire- are they causing artists to be unpaid?- Mary

What about the safety?

You have safety on Itunes- Lily

You only have safety for a few seconds on Itunes, as soon as someone buys it, they can upload it with pictures on lots of websites- Rhoda
