Hey all, sorry for not updating very often. Rehearsals are under way for "The Moonlite Players" promotional event on the 1st October 2011. So after rehearsals I get very tired as I sing in the performance and I am also the technician. I will update more after the 1st including a video/photos of the day. :D

This is me and my ugly stepstister (and wonderful friend) Diane Hammond. This was taken on Friday 23rd September at the theatre where "Cinderella" will be performed.

These are some pictures of what the theatre looks like. "Cinderella" will come alive in this theatre in January!

Professional Communication Technology Reader Response.

I can understand that Web 2.0 is the way forward for our future generations. But shouldn’t we allow only certain things to be posted to our website, or certain comments to be posted on our website?

Ulrich encourages us to take control of what we post online and who comments on it. Not all websites (including social network websites) have that "How to control what you say" if you like on their websites.

For example I have 2 You-tube accounts. 1 I have full access to and the other I don't. With my 1st original You-tube account (which has some of my professional work on), I had forgotten the password for it and tried to reset it using the correct email address that the account was linked up to. But the emails never came through and I couldn't reset my password any other way. I reported this to You-tube yet I haven't heard anything. This was now a year ago. I noticed from searching my You-tube channel that people have left comments (some genuine and some not so genuine) and I have several messages to read. How can I take control of this?? Without access to my account people could think anything of me.

Should we have access to all websites where we can comment and share things on other people's profiles? What if someone started being racist, sexist, or worse abusive and the website didn't have any power over it? There are very few websites who control this. I.E. Facebook. In fact Facebook is the only controlled social networking site I know of.
When Bruns talks about the Produsage of the things you write/post online, he mentions that you have the overall copyright to it all. I agree with him on some level as I know that on any website (aside from social networking websites) you own the copyright to what you have written provided it wasn't written by someone else (Plagiarism).
Do we have to be allowed to have our own privacy? Do we have to ask to keep for example a diary a secret? I know that the web is changing for the better (as some people do say), but what about your privacy?? A lot of the websites we use on a regular basis don’t allow us privacy. There are only a few websites that allow us to keep our personal diaries and blogs secure and private. Do we have to conform to what the creator of the website wants?

On Twitter for example I have no control over what people tweet about me. I can't delete what they say. I had this one tweet sent to me by a girl which had a link to a pornography website. The link looked like it was safe and secure and was a Tiny URL link (which most of the time proves to be ok to open). But with this one I was absolutely shocked. I cannot prevent this from happening on twitter. It's happened to me more than once. And we see proof of this on any celebrities Twitter account (as published in the newspapers about a month ago).

What does collective intelligence bring to the idea of professional networking and professional communications?
Collective intelligence brings a collaboration of thoughts on how we would professionally network and communicate with others in either the same profession or a vast range of professions on websites.

Wednesday 14th September 2011

After yesterday I was tired, stressed, annoyed, and just frustrated more than I had ever been in my life. It took roughly 2 cups of tea and 2 coffees to wake me up today. I had never drunken so much caffeine at all. I went back to my director’s house for rehearsals. In the time we had, I was getting all the backing tracks in the order they should appear in, making sure I had all the correct tracks by going through them with my director, and working on the group songs that I sing a part of. It was a great rehearsal with challenges that made me feel angry. But I realised that the challenges shouldn’t get to me, but that I should be strong and courageous. So hopefully I will be back to my normal self tomorrow. I am praying I will be my normal self tomorrow.

Tuesday 13th September 2011

I went to my Director’s house to have a meeting about our promotion event that will take place on the 1st October 2011. I am in charge of getting all the background music for the show and the event. In presence at this meeting was a friend of my director (who I am hopefully performing a duet with), and my director. It was a tough meeting as the three of us had to decide on a song for the duet and this took quite a while as we couldn’t stop quarrelling about it. In the end we gave up and moved on to the downloading of the songs we required for both the show and the promotional event. It took from 6pm till midnight.

Hey all, Just a quick update on "Cinderella". Here is the chance to meet some of my friends in the cast.

So the lady with the Blonde hair next to me is Diane Hammond. She is my Stepsister in the Pantomine and she is our Treasurer and Stage Manager.

Then the guy with the black hair is my pal Buttons! A.K.A Shane Tanner.

More cast photo's coming up soon.

"Cinderella" is going well at the moment, it is everything I could imagine possible. The cast and our Directors are amazing and I have learnt a lot these past few weeks. I know what you may be thinking out there. Oh she's got a part in a Pantomine, she's not getting paid, how can she afford to live? A lot of people have judged me on this and I will always say the same thing. It doesn't matter whether I get paid or not, the experience I recieve from this is incredibly valuable. My Directors have at least 60-80 years of experience between the two of them. I am most grateful from what I am learning from them and the cast as a whole. God will help me with my finacial issues and I get full support from my Parents as well as guidance from my tutors Paula, Alan, and Rosemary. That's what's important not money. I would hate to think some of you think that money is more important than the values of life and the way you lead it. Because that just isn't the case at all.

So a huge thankyou to Alan Durrant, Paula Nottingham, Rosemary McGuinness, Monika Caro, Roger, Diane, Fifi, Shane, and the rest of the cast for your amazing support and help so far!

Love you all and have a wonderful weekend.
