Act one.

Stage direction for Susanna Walcott.

* Parris on knees next to bed. Stage right
* Bed in centre, for Betty, Betty is not waking.
* Wooden chair left of bed, another chair right side up stage.
* Closed chest up stage left.
* Entrance up stage right for all actors.
* Susanna turn body towards audience next to chair which is up stage.
* When leaving turn downstage, walk to leave, stop turn twist left, turn back, and exit.
